From Sunnyside to Huntington Boulevard, Fresno's sprawling expanse offers more fun and excitement than one can imagine! This central Californian city is a bustling epicenter for activity, and those who are inclined to adventure can find more than enough to occupy any amount of time there. Here are our top 5 picks for making memories in the most lively city on the West Coast:

  1. Visit Forestiere Underground Gardens. This man-made wonder (built by a Sicilian immigrant in the 1900s) took 40 years to complete, and is best described as a whimsical, underground garden bungalow. Enjoy the painstaking work of Baldasare Forestiere, and admire ancient plants and secret hideaways under the busy streets of Central California. Architectural connoisseurs welcome!

  2. Enjoy Shinzen Friendship Garden. This gorgeous tribute to Fresno's Japanese sister city, Kochi, is a benevolent and peaceful attraction that is sure to make its way into your vacation photo album. This garden brings elements from all four seasons into its design, completing the vision of unity and togetherness; you won't soon forget the image of Ume Grove in full bloom, or the sound of peaceful waters under Double Moon Bridge.

  3. View Meux Home Museum. This Victorian-style home is a tribute to early Fresno's architectural basis. As much as the structure, itself, is fascinating, the contents of the home are of the era, and prove to be the icing on a truly wonderful visit to an historic area of the city. Guests can examine every piece of this architectural work of art, from the vaulted ceilings to the floral carvings.

  4. Play at Rotary Storyland and Playland. This fairytale come to life has been around since 1962 and offers a wonderfully unique and magical place, where kids from ages 1 to 100 can play! The park has everything from magicians to storytellers, and offers its visitors a wild walk through the world of our classic storybook favorites.

  5. Shop at Vineyard Farmers Market. This list item is almost self-explanatory when it comes to why it's here: fresh produce! The Fresno Vineyard Farmers Market offers shoppers fresh veggies, fruit, and other goods (like baked bread), all organic or locally grown or made. A "shop small" advocate's dream market, this attraction is sure to leave you feeling wholesome.
