Whether you are looking to visit, writing a report, or just curious, California has many great and interesting things to offer. - Largest Standing Redwood Trees in the World
The Avenue of the Giants is a scenic strip on the old 101 highway that goes right through Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Along the way there are plenty of places to hike, camp, swim, and so much more! There are over 51,000 acres of redwoods for you to enjoy.
- Most Bald Eagles in the U.S.
The largest population of bald eagles in the United States live in the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge during the winter. They have great bird watching trails for you to hike, especially in November to March. If you won’t be in the area during these months, don’t worry, there are other birds that migrate to the area during the other months.
- Sacramento railroad museum
Train enthusiast? Sacramento has the largest railroad museum in North America. They restore engines and cars for exhibits. They also feature new exhibits often and happy hold events. Don’t forget around the holidays they have the Polar Express train rides!
- World’s Largest Landlocked Harbor is in San Francisco
Not only is it large but there are many places to check out while you are there. These places include Alcatraz, the aquarium, and Pier 39. They also have a large history behind it. Come check it out if you haven’t already. Why just read about facts and history when you can experience for yourself.
- Some of the Largest Cities in the Country
These Northern California cities include Sacramento, San Jose, San Francisco, Fresno, and Oakland. Each of these major cities have many people but more importantly, they have fun places to visit and see for yourself. - Large Wine Industry
California produces over 17 million gallons of wine annually. Many of these vineyards are award winning and have comfortable taste testing rooms for you and your friends to have fun in. Some of these amazing vineyards are located in Northern California’s Napa Valley.
- Hershey Chocolate factory
That’s right, Northern California is home of the only three Hershey’s chocolate factories in the U.S.. They are located in Oakdale and because of this chocolaty delight the south end of the town smells like fresh chocolate. YUM!
