Whether you want to take a trip with a loved one or with a group of great people, Northern California has the wineries to make your trip amazing! Here are seven of the top wineries in Northern California.
- The Mountain Winery:
This winery is rich with history. It was founded in 1901 and is home to the famous Concert Summer Series. The Mountain Winery has played host to many celebrities and would love to treat you like one. Not only can you enjoy their tasting room, but you can check out their events.
- Left Bend:
Los Gatos, CA
Left Bend creates their wine through one of their five vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains. They are careful how their wines are made and remain hands-on through the process to ensure that you get an amazing Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, or Pinot Noir. Their tasting rooms are open on Thursday to Sunday from noon to seven and Sunday from noon to four.
- Chimney Rock Winery:
They not only offer wine tastings and tours daily (10-5 by appointment), but they also have a classic wine tasting with a wine educator who will happily share the rich history of Chimney Rock and more. This option is $50 per person and is daily from 10 am - 4 pm.
They also have an Estate Tour & Barrel Tasting. This unique tasting experience is in-depth and you will be given a guided tour of the estate. It is daily at 10:30 pm and 1 pm. It is $85 per person.
- Chateau Davell's Vineyards:
If you are looking for unique, hand-crafted wines this is the place for you. Eric Hays and his wife, Emily Hays, bring years of experience to the table and work hard to make special wines in extremely small lots. That means you can try wines that people are not going to pick off any store shelf. If you want to try a varied range of French varietals and blends, this is the place for you.
- Bargetto Winery:
Soquel, CA (Santa Cruz)
The Bargetto Winery is the oldest winery in Santa Cruz County. It is also family operated. They have a lovely wine tasting room that includes views of the creek-side tasting room and an art gallery that showcases more than 80 years of the winery. They also offer great cheese with their whines. You can taste 5 wines for $10 or reserve tasting for $15.
- R&B Cellars:
This family owned winery not only provides unique wines, but often has the winemakers serenading you with music. Their main goal is to “delight you with something extraordinary” which they work hard to do. They have a musical theme to their winery; you will notice that each wine has been given a musical name. If you want music, a view of San Francisco, and to have a little fun come visit their tasting room Thursday - Sunday.
