Buy Local

With the state of the current economy, maintaining a conservative approach to spending is understandable. Ensuring each dollar is spent wisely and with purpose is the key to a healthy recovery and spending dollars locally is not only smart, it will also make a big difference within our own communities.

Buy Local – Outdoor Campaign

In an effort to help boost the local economy, organizations - Valley Yellow Pages, CBS Outdoor and the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation developed an idea to help raise awareness and remind consumers of the benefits of buying local. This partnership leverages the Buy Local campaign spearheaded by the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation, the reach of CBS Outdoor and the sponsorship efforts of Valley Yellow Pages. As a result, an outdoor campaign was developed to encourage consumers to spend their dollars locally.

Starting in March of 2010, 124 billboards will be rotating for one year throughout Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Merced and Kings Counties. The billboards feature two distinct messages: “Buy Local. Keep $ Local,” and “Buy Local = Local Jobs.” Buying local means shopping at locally-owned or national chain stores located in your city.
